The Montreal Canadiens struck gold with the selection of young defenseman Lane Hutson.



Where would the Habs be today without Lane Hutson?

We’ve heard about it a few times, but this time, it comes straight from Martin St-Louis himself, and honestly, I don’t ever remember hearing something like this from an NHL head coach.

St-Louis had to step in a few times, including once in particular, just to help Hutson get off the ice.

Lane Hutson Loves Hockey Too Much

He’s constantly on the ice.. the first one there, the last to leave, and someone who never takes a day off, so much so that Canadiens management (including Martin St-Louis) actually had to go speak to him several times to help him get off the ice.

I love hearing that.

It’s understandable that Canadiens management would be concerned about Hutson overworking himself and burning out, especially with his average ice time of 22 minutes and 36 seconds per game. But I find it amazing that things reached this point.

And it went even further:

 

I love it, I love it!

As I mentioned above, Lane Hutson lives and breathes hockey, just like Nathan MacKinnon, Sidney Crosby, and Connor McDavid.

No, I’m not saying he has their level of talent, but he definitely shares their passion for the game.

We’re lucky to have him!
