We received very good news in the last few hours regarding Montreal Canadiens defenseman Kaiden Guhle.



For the very first time, Guhle practiced fully with his teammates, wearing a regular jersey.. And on top of that, he traveled to St. Louis with his teammates!

 

He will also obviously be flying to Philadelphia in the next few hours.

 

In short, there’s a real sense that Guhle will be back in action soon – which is fantastic news – but it also means Martin St-Louis has a big decision to make.

Already a hint about the defenseman who will pay the price when Kaiden Guhle returns?

In a press conference, Martin St-Louis didn’t want to answer the question and avoided revealing too much, but his actions spoke louder than words.

During yesterday’s practice, it was Jayden Struble who was rotating in a group of three with Lane Hutson and Kaiden Guhle.

It’s quite clear that Lane Hutson won’t be the one left out when Guhle returns, so that points to Struble.

 

Everything indicates that it’s indeed Jayden Struble who will pay the price when Kaiden Guhle returns, a decision that won’t sit well with everyone..

“I really don’t see how the Canadiens can take Jayden Struble out of the lineup when (or if) Kaiden Guhle returns.

It would be a very bad decision.”

At the same time, none of the three – David Savard, Jayden Struble, or Arber Xhekaj – currently deserves to be scratched.

Still, MSL will have to make a choice.

When the official defensive pairings and duos were published, the Canadiens organization confirmed this observation.

 

So this is something to watch over the next few hours, but don’t be surprised if Jayden Struble is the one sent to the press box when Kaiden Guhle returns.
